got to the lake around 1pm. 45 air temp unknown water temp. no wind. the lake was very low, 20 feet down from the ramp. i was using a 5wt 9ft fly rod with a sinking line with a dark nymph.
i used my 8ft pontoon and a pair of flippers to troll the lake.
after 15 minutes i had a bite, and very little cute yellow perch. i think he thought he was a trout, he put up a nice fight for a three inch fish.
all in all i got some fly practice and got some sun.

My brother in alw just moved to Kalama and is about 5 or so minutes from that lake. Was thinking about bringing my float tube down when we are doing Thanksgiving with him. There has to be some bass hidden away in there as well ... LOL.

I have seen some very nice bass in the lake at times. And I caught some large trout out there as well. But I want to hook into some of the big catfish in the lake. One came up next to me last summer as I was kicking along in one of my tubes and it had to be at least a 5 lb fish. Nice One !!!
