Launched at Wawai boat launch about 8 am and across to the other side of the river and then headed up river about two miles.. First we tried tossing tube points out on the flats with nothing.. Then tried crawdad colored crankbaits and still couldnt get a bite on the sunny flats.. Then we started trolling the the breaklines along the the shores of the rock walls and BAM, fish after fish with the crankbait.. It seems that the bass were all stacked up in the deeper part of the breaklines in about 12 feet of water.. They would only bite in the shade.. We'd troll the breaklines and get tons of bites in the shade but as soon as we hit a sunny area, nothing.. Then back in the shade and they'd hit again.. Caught one nice one about 2 to 2.5 lbs and probably 30 smaller bass, some of which very pretty decent.. All were caught 5 feet or so off shore right where the breakline gets deep.
