What an afternoon... I slept til 10, made food, got on the water around noon. I caught 2 smallies right off the bat. Neither weighing over a pound but I was just happy to see action so quickly. My 3rd fish was deep and man, it was a fight for a good 40 seconds. I was thinking... god I hope this is my first 5 pounder! It was somewhere inbetween 3-4 Ibs but I was still shaking because I had to almost fall in the water to lip it. Some other fishermen were freaking out, so that was funny. ''You caught that on a plug???''. I don't enjoy fishing with live worms I told them. It is effective at times though. My next 2 fish closer to the fremont bridge were both over 2 Ibs so that was great. I am starting to believe that smallies put up a much stronger fight then Largemouth. I caught a few more around 3-3:30pm and I lost my favorite plug in the trees due to some ambitious casting so I called it a day. 7 fish in 3 hours off land. I was stoked! Enjoy the photos.
