WWFFC Outing: We had 4 boats on the water.

We were told the Cutthroat would not be in the lake yet. Well they were. Out of 4 boats the catch was at least 10 cuts (final count not collected yet). The lake is also full of large (as in Jumbo) Perch. Chris's boat brought home 15 Perch with several around a pound. None were small.

Water temp 71F. Wind soft and southerly. Clouded.

Color Green to Chartruse. Cowbells or Lake Trollers with Wedding Ring terminal rigs and a worm. On the surface you got the Perch, they would hang over the 60 to 90 foot hole mid lake. We would run the spinners 50 ft behind the boat and slow troll @.9 to 1.25MPH.

Cuts were in 30 ft of water 60 to 90 ft deep around the east bend before the first main point. Slow troll @.9 to 1.5MPH.

This was a great club outing.

The trout are pretty well spread all throughout the lake at this time of the year. The key is to find the bait wads and troll around them. Everybody likes to fish near the point that is farthest West but on the East side of the lake...... out to that weather buoy and either West and/or east of there in the deep water. You usually catch trout in 20-40 feet in about 80 feet of water.
