It was 'take your boat to work day' , ok just me i guess... as soon as i got off work i headed out to give Armstrong a try. Got on the lake about 6pm, still blazing hot out. I headed straight for the shade. Not because i thought that is where the fish were, but rather where i knew I could tolerate the heat. Tons of fallen trees on the west side of the lake. It forced me to hone my skills of finding the spots within the abundance of structure. I had three poles rigged, this time they were Brown/Green Jig w/ Green plastic chunk, a white/chartreuse spin bait, and switched between junebug and green stick worm. The green stick bait produced six 10-12" LMB and the jig got a 14" LMB to go for a ride to the boat. Nada on the spin bait (again) I spent 90% of my time on the west side, I guess I will have to go back Friday and try the east side.
