Hey Josh did you overhear anybody talk about the Kok fishery this year while you were there.

Yeah, I love this lake! I've been there several times in the last two weeks with mixed results. Several decent smallies, plenty of crappie (some were quite large~1 lb or so) a couple rainbows and have even managed a couple decent sized kokes (10-12in). Shoot, one day there was a huge bass hanging out right under their little dock, my friends and I estimated the thing to be 5lb by looks....couldn't get him to take anything or else I could give you a more accurate weight ;) I am new to koke fishing and am still learning the ins and outs of night fishing at the same time. So far, I have caught all of the kokes while trolling in the late evening hours. I used white corn on a wedding ring with a mini flasher setup. All were caught relatively close to the surface~15 feet or two colors of leaded line down. I have yet to be successful at night though...I'll let you know later this week ;) Anybody have any tips? By the way, I don't know if it is any indication of a healthy koke fishery, but right at dusk the water explodes with small/medium kokanee. It's actually just sort of cool to be in the middle of it...
