Went to Eloika Tuesday. Got on the water about 6:30 PM from Jerry's. Went strait out from the landing and started throwing a plain jig head with a 2 1/2" Gulp minnow (shad colored). Landed about 30 Crappie by 10 PM. The seats in my boat are 11" wide, so if a fish was as long as my seat is wide I kept it. Wound up taking 6 fish home. Lots of 8, 9, & 10" fish. Only a couple of really small ones. Put out the floating lights at dark and after about an hour noticed alot of red larva of some sort gathering under the lights, and quite a few trout (I assume brownies) tearing them up. Too bad I didn't bring my fly gear. Was a good night and way peaceful out there after dark. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lakes.
