Went out to Rose lake for some summer pike action, caught one which was about 33-34 inches or so and weighed about 8 1/2lbs!! Got some other hits but only landed the one, caught a few LMB nothing large enough to brag about! Got rained out after about 2 and a half hours but could have possibly caught some more!

MuskyHunters, from the looks of your last two posts you should change your name to PikeHunters. Nice fish. I spend a lot of time fishing for Pike in Idaho. I have been told there are no pike in Rose Lake so I have never gone there. Judging from your photo, I have been misinformed. Is Rose lake very consistant for producing pike? Where I go I can typically put from 6 to 16 pike a day in the boat. Is there potential fro that at Rose Lake? Happy Fishing

Well honestly i cant say for sure only been out there 3 times, the first time was early spring had one bite through my line, then this time and only caught the one and the most recent was on 7/14 and caught a lil baby 12in pike. So they obviously have a self sustaining population but cant say how many or how frequently they are caught. Where do you go and catch so many? What do you use? We probably should change our name but the reason we started fishing was the tiger musky from newman lake so we gotta give it up for em!!

I hate to say where I have been catching these fish. It is by no means a secret but they small spots and can easily get over run. I will tell you that I have been catching them very consistantly on 1/2oz black spinnerbaits with ta railer hook and a chartruse trailer. I have also gotten them on a fire tiger colored Strike King Pure Poison chatter bait. Until yesterday, they were only hanging in the cabbage, but yesterday we found them on the outside of the weedbeds. I don't know what they call thess weeds. I call them stringy weeds. (LOL) They grow in big mats. We would throw the spinnerbaits over top of them and they would hit on the outside edge. I released 10 and the kid released 2 yesterday the biggest was 8lbs 12ozs. Happy fishing
