It always amazes me what a beautiful state we live in! This morning my father and I made a run up to fish lake from Wenatchee. We put in the water just before 8AM. The conditions were perfect, and the scenery as usual was breathtaking. The temp. was around 70, with a slight breeze. We launched from the northeast side of the lake, from the free launch near the campgrounds managed by the State. We made our way east along the shore line and landed two smaller rainbows (twelve in.) on frog pattern flatfish behind flashers. We also had the chance to see a doe swimming and drinking from the lake, as well as a couple bald eagles and several hawks fishing. It was beautiful right off the bat. We circled around the northeast end of the lake with completely perfect conditions with a couple more hits. by the time we started to make our way towards the Cove Resort (about a half an hour or so) the wind started to pick up a little bit. We made it about halfway up the south side of the lake then the lake turned into whitecaps. We tried to still fish for a little while, but to no avail. Ultimately we C&R 6 average rainbows, but no Trips :( Overall it was a great day! Quality time spent with dad is always good. Would have been amazing if not for the wind. We'll try Rufus tomorrow.
