Got to Sawyer @ 0615. My friend Rick and I started trolling to the south on the west side of the lake. I was using the trusty Ford Fender with diamond pattern, and Rick was using a small dodger with a flatfish. We were about 100 yards from the boat launch I caught an 8" Kokanee. He went back in to grow bigger. Trolled south until we got to the slalom course, where we crossed over to the east side of the lake heading north. I then caught the 17" rainbow you see in the picture. Rick wasn't having any luck so he put on a set of Kokanee gear with a wedding ring. A few hours later I caught the smaller 11" Kokanee. Rick still wasn't getting any so he finally switched to a set of Fenders and a worm. We trolled the east side of the lake the rest of the day. The fast boats came out right at exactly 11 am, and at about 1 pm we started for the boat launch. As we got to the west side of the lake out of the path of the speed boats, Rick's pole finally had some action on it. He caught the 14" Kokanee in the picture. The osprey wasn't having any luck today. Still a good day fishing.
