This was our secound trip to American Lake. The first trip we got 0. This day we started trolling from the free launch heading S to the island and around it then over to the west side and north. Using popgear with about every combination we had and at several different depths this produced another big 0. We then went to the SE side and bottom fished which produced 4, 11 to 13 inchers within 15 minutes. Then it died for about 2 hrs. Then 2 more in the 14 inch hit almost simultanious. It died again and in about 1 more hour we got our 7th trout for the day around 5PM. At 7:30 PM we gave it up and went home with our 7 trout. The Eagles at this lake are awsome.
Also caught someones popgear with a weddingring attached. When I pulled-up ankor there was a rope strung on it but it came off when it was within 4 ft of the surface. Just guessing it was someones ankor line.
