Ch.2 Coulon Park

O.K. I stopped by Coulon yesterday and the perch bite was average! So I decided I had to go back and try for the smallies..glad I did!

I got to park about 730 this time and stayed till about 945pm. I was using a small curly tail grub around the docks and was getting some nice little hits off of it cast after cast. I think the smaller hits were rock bass/perch/ or sunfish. Because the bass bites were pretty aggressive in comparison.

Anyhow, I would throw really close to the docks around the boat launch, let grub sink to bottom and then slowly troll it back and bam, bam, I got these two guys! Fun trip again, Coulon produces 2 days in a row!

Also, on a side note it seems as if the bites are really strong just before sunset and then after it dies down? Maybe the fish begin to move at that time or feeding stops!

As long as you let the bigger ones go, and don't keep within the slot limit, you're cool with me. Now Largemouth on the other hand, I'd let all them go in lake WA, thats my opinion : ) Maybe you'll see me down there sometime.

thefishinguy101-

I was fishing under the docks, right by the boat launch! Using small curly tail grubs, throw as close to docks as possible, let sink, and nice even retrieve back. There is usually a couple of smallies and rock bass to be caught that way for me, sometimes blue gills as well.
