I hit the water on 5/31 at 6:00am and fished hard all over the south end of Medical lake. I used Black, green and brown Wooleyboogers, Several nymph patterns (6-pack included), Black zonkers, Stimulator and a few other emergers. My little fishfinder on my Fly pontoon shows a water temp of 68 degrees and the average depth of the fish were either 10-12 feet (sunfish?) and about 22-27 feet for the trout I was trying to get. Anyway, I fished till my arms was tired and the sun got hot. No luck. I had one very light hit for a brief moment on a black Woolybooger. Otherwise no luck.
Anyway~ It beats sitting at home wishing that I had gone fishing~!

Ouch....although that been known to happen on that lake! One technique that works for me on Medical this time of year is fishing a chironomid pattern deep, within a foot or two of the bottom. Hatch dependent, of course, but when it's working nothing will beat it for sheer numbers and activity.

Yep! about the same action I had a day earlier. I did get a couple on a dry fly. I saw the same blips at 10 to 12' and the ones at 20+.
I think we all need to go the Medical with Raff next time!! he seems to have this lake "dialed in". I have had a couple of good days there (15+ fish) however I've also had some of the toughest days I've had on any lake anywhere there as well.
