i took my buddy bass fishing for his first time ever, and my first bass trip this year.we didnt get out on the lake till about 10am, started out in the dunes sight fishing largemouth, i have never seen so many big bass back there before. caught my first fish ten minutes into the day on a plastic worm, we ended up fishing till 330 pm. we caught 8 fish all together with nothing under 3 pounds.i talked to a few tournament guys and they said there were doing pretty good fishing for smallmouths all along the rock damn using any kind of plastics.

Nice job! Looks like you had a great time. Any tips on where to go?

its hard to say a certain spot mainly because the water is so high, just search crab creek look for the dunes that are barely above water and lots of brush, that what we did just be careful gets scary out there when the water is this high, Winchester waste way isn't so bad with the high water and we saw a lot more bass there then crab creek

What a nice way to get introduced to bass fishing. I'm sure he is hooked now.

I was out there I think one day before you guys were and my buddy and I stayed on the rock piles and the spawning bay almost all day. We got a lot of good smallies off the rocks but the bay was almost all cleared out. We did shoot back to Winchester and I caught one real small large mouth on a senko, what would u recommend using back there? Where abouts were the dunes you were fishing in comparison to the white cross? Really helpful report maybe I will see you out there one of these weekends.

im not to sure where the white cross is any hints? the bass seemed to be holding up around the flat tops on the dunes where the water was consistently 2 - 5 feet deep where that was lots of bushes sticking out of the water. we stayed mainly down by Winchester waste way not to far from were the water hits the main land, i figured we were pretty far in, but its hard to say withe water so high. we mainly used 4-6 in worms Texas rig style, they were biting just about any color we threw at em. but they seemed to really like the camo color with red flakes
