On Sunday we got a late start but were in the water at Lake Patterson by 10:00. We started trolling at the point across the lake from the WDFG access. The first rig in was the lead-line, dodger and wedding band combo. As I was rigging # 2 the first rod in went off and we pulled in a nice 10” kokanee. The second rod was rigged with a 3” floating Rapala in a baby perch pattern and run off the downrigger at 12-20’. Between the two rods we had constant action on a mix of kokanee, planters and holdover trout. The Rapala as the ticket for catching the larger trout, the largest being around 18”. After a shore stop for the dogs we changed tactics a decided to fish for perch. We metered around and located a massive school of perch in 17’ of water. For two or three hours the action was furious. Nothing big but we had great fishing. An orange sparkle Dick Nite tipped with a worm seemed to be the hot perch bait for the day. Final count was mixed kokanee/trout limits to 18” and 20 perch to about 10”.
