After a couple of days hiking in the desert, I figured I'd throw a line in at one of the many lakes in the Seeps Lakes area. I fished North Teal, as I did last year at this time, and just like then, I had no hits.
I threw in a plastic right where North Teal "falls" into South Teal. I let it drift in the current making it dance every now and then...suddenly "bam!" a bass swam out of the shade and tried to take off with it. I did not get a picture...I didn't even think I'd get a bite as I get skunked every time I go to this lake. Anyway, I reeled it in and I let it go completely satisfied I finally caught something here on a plastic nonetheless.
I was alone most of the time but there were a few guys starting to show up.
I did fish Soda Lake for a few minutes as I was waking up from camping. The fish were jumping on the shaded East side of the lake...none took my line. I think a roostertail would have done great but didn't test the theory. I couldn't cast that far across the lake and had more hiking to do.
