Wife wanted to go fishing for Mothers Day so I took her to Sammamish we started fishing at 9:30 and stopped at 5:30 we landed 10 smallmouth but had to fish very hard for them also lost 4 we used jigs drop shot and some cranks water temp was 57 to 59 and kind of stained for sammamish Don't know how big the largest one was but over 4 pounds. All in all a great day what guy can complain when you have to fish all day for Mothers Day. PS. I did buy her a dozen roses and some scratch tickets. tight lines

Thank you for the encouraging post, I am new to fishing for smallies in Sammamish. I went out Friday 5/8 at 9am and fished the west side using plugs near drop offs and drop shots next to docks, I caught quite a few good sized trout using both techniques (all fish released unharmed.) Using the fish finder I would find drop offs, structure and fish symbols, when i drop shotted these locations it would only result in catching perch. Any tips you could provide to a newbie! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

temp at washington was around 56-57. Seemed like the temp dropped from about a week ago.

Hey urban thanks for the married well a fishing wife is a great joy she has decorated our house and bedroom with fish. Tim I would fish the cranks around the docks and the drop shot at the ends of the deep docks and the drop off a tube jig in either location is killer watermelon or pumpkinseed use scent allways and good luck first thing is to learn the lake best way is to fish the entire lake in sections you can read and study but by fishing it you will know it for all the seasons and also for the largemouth they are big but like different parts also great perch, trout and salmon fishing in sammamish and lake WA good luck to you!

Thank you tracker44, you gave me some great ideas. Lastly do you find this time of year best to be on one side or the other and either north or south? Anxious to catch one!

It sounds and looks like you have a real sweet lady there. If we ever get any breaks from these cold fronts and rain and wind, the bass fishing should get really good in the next few days.
