6/12/2009 11:59:00 PMi went out to the dock at deep lake today at around 5pm and caught 3 trout about 8 to 10 inches in length. i was using 1/4oz weight with a cone type weight in front of it and a size 8 hook baited with chartreuse power eggs along with 4 to 5 feet of leader to get my hook above the thick weeds on the bottom. using the cone type weight and the 1/4oz bullet type weight minimizes the probability with the excessive weeds that gets caught around your weight and hook. this is a decent lake even only being 17 feet deep at the deepest point located directly out in front of the boat rental on the other side of the swimming area of course. it just takes patience and casting your line out as far as possible. if all else fails, you can always toy around with the hundreds of bluegill right off either side of the dock.
