Took my dad fishing out at Pine four a couple of hours this afternoon. Our last trip to Beaver Lake a couple weeks ago was unproductive, so wanted to make sure we had some success. Thought there would be more people, but was surprisingly open. Got started at 2pm. Weather had just stopped raining, water temp was 54 and the barometric pressure was 29.84. Used the same rapala I'd had luck on Beaver with Friday and got my dad hooked up with a similar rapala. Started catching fish immediately. Mainly fished the North end of the lake as the fish finder showed a lot fish holding up there. I decided to move my plug deeper, so added some weight to the line and ran it down to 15-20 feet. Still kept getting hits, but not as frequent, although the fish that I brought up seemed to be on the bigger side of the stocker scale (13-14") and most of the hits seemed to be more solid then the surface ones. Kept a few for dinner and C&R'ed a lot more (stopped counting after 10). Also got a lot of light hits without hookups. Tried switching out plug size and style, but the only dead time was when I used a perch colored rapala. Although the finder showed most of the fish at the north end of the lake, still had hits and caught a few on the way back and right up to the launch. Quit at 4pm. The barometric pressure had dropped .04 points. Lots more people fishing when we left. The resident eagle was out having luck too. No sooner did we get home then it started to downpour. Glad we got out when we did.
