A buddy and me arrived at the lake, about 5 minutes before the park guy opened the gate. First ones on the water. The trout were jumping, mainly at the end of the lake to the right of the dock. Motored over and started casting Rooster Tails. I caught a couple smaller ones, but there were some Triploids jumping. I hooked a brooder and it took off, pulling about 20 feet off my reel before it turned. After a pretty good fight, I told my buddy to get the camera. I started to lift the 4-5 pounder up and it started to thrash, and I dropped it back into the water, broke my 4 pound test and off it went with my Rooster Tail in its mouth. That is the only big one we hooked. I caght about a dozen and my buddy got two.

About 10 other boats and lots of people on the bank, considering its Monday. The sun came up and the fish went off the bite. Got one every now and again, but slowed way down. Fished till about noon, cooked up some elk burgers at the day use area and left for home.

There was a serious algea bloom going on today. Parts of the lake were nice and clear, other parts were very brown/green with algea. There was also alot of floating logs and wood today. By the time we left the algea was over the entire lake, making about two feet or less visiblitly.

Stopped by Kress on the way north and it is really muddy. It has not cleared up since the Kalama flooded in January. Not very people at Kress, do to the mudddy, milky water color.
