I thought "third time's the charm." .....not so much. Took my dad out Saturday morning. Launched at 7am. One boat and one inflatable on the water with one or two people fishing from the park. Beautiful morning with a slight breeze and 37 degrees. Water was a little brown and 49 degrees when we started. Trolled all the way up to the far end of the lake using rainbow colored Rapalas. Made one more circle then went back to the north end to try some still casting. Threw a number of lures and plugs out for a while. Watched three osprey take two trout while we were parked up there. Still nothing, so went back to trolling flatfish both deep and shallow. Quite a few fish surfacing, so they should have been running shallow. Fish finder showed a lot near the bottom in the middle of the lake, but spotty everywhere else. Still didn't have any luck, so tried some bass fishing. Hit up the docks and shoreline in the middle of the lake. Tried dropshotting a pumpkin colored senko and threw chartruse grubs on jigheads. No hits after an hour, so decided to call it quits. Trolled back to the launch using a brown floating Rapala. Got one hit just before we got to the park. Circled back around and couldn't raise anymore, so quit at 10:30. Saw the osprey take two more fish while we were trolling, so final tally was osprey: 4, Us: 0. Water temp was 51 when we got out. Lots of people now fishing from the park and 4 or 5 boats on the water. Only heard of two caught.
