I should have known it was going to be a difficult day when the first three gas stations I went to did not have bait worms, and when I asked for "bait worms" they looked at me funny...
Anyways, having spent time backtracking to find worms I was not in the mood to really scout out the lake properly. I ended up sitting on the bank near the grassy park area. There were no reeds or any obvious structure to the lake in this area, it was only until a line was thrown out with a stationary bobber that I realized that the water in this area was not more than 3 feet deep out just about as far as I could throw my line. Ultimately, I had only one nibble over the course of about 3 or 4 hours, and it wasn't even a dramatic nibble at that.
I heard a few guys on boats that said that they hadn't had much luck either, by the way.
Anyways, after I packed up all of my gear, I drove around to the boat ramp on the southwestern side of the park and took a look at another potential bank fishing spot. Near this southwestern boat launch is what appears to be the remains of a dock that is no longer in use. The water here was noticeably deeper and probably the better spot for throwing in a line. When I go back again, this is where I will be. Hopefully, I'll provide a better review soon!
