I braved the crowds and went to Blackman's this afternoon. After being skunked the last few times I've been out, I was very happy to be catching fish again.

I tried a spoon for a while, without any luck. Others on the dock using lures weren't catching anything either on them.

When I switched to the tried and true powerbait they started hitting. Got my limit after being there 3 hours. Let 2 small planters go and kept the rest.

The largest fish, was 20", which is a new personal record for trout for me. So, as you can imagine, I walked away quite happy.

I thought it was kinda funny how many boaters anchored within casting distance of the dock. In fact people trolling in boats caught lines from shore a couple of times.

That larger trout is a bit weird looking? Looks as though you popped him in the oven without gutting him or removing his head... and then the took a photo. (-: Congrats. on your personal best trout.

Nice job and very nice fish. I fished there this morning and did well. I kept 2 that were 13 and just under 15 inches and actually caught 17 fish total in just under 3 hours trolling a green Woolley Bugger fly. I fished in front of the launch but stayed far enough away as not to obstruct the guys fishing from the dock. I filed a report a few minutes ago so it should be up soon.. Thanks for your report.

I also noticed that my two were bright when I caught them and later at home when I photographed them their color had darkened quite a bit.

The boats are staying by the launch because that's where the truck dumps fish. Hatchery fish are not used to moving around much, so they generally stay put for a while.
