Nice sunny day for a change, snow seems to have stopped, LOL. Went down to Bitter. As usual slowly trolled the perimeter of the lake, about 50' from shore. I do best here with a green plastic grub. troll slow. The water is obviously still very cold, I didn't have a thermometer with me. Fishing was very slow. No fish made it to the tube, but I did have a half dozen bites and missed a hook set. The turtles were out sunning themselves, 3 eagles over head, dead raccoon in the creepy building by the water etc. etc.
A father and a few kids showed up for some shore fishing. Nobody else around.

I'm glad the weather turned out nice for you today. Too bad no fish, but very cool you got to see the eagles and turtles. Some days even when I catch fish, it's the wildlife around me I remember more than what I caught that day.

Hey Chris,

Always fun to read your reports from our old childhood stomping grounds. You are a brave man fishing in a tube in that cold water. Die Hard fishermen! Gotta love it! :) I got a call last night from my buddy who I have talked about before on this site who is a local guide. He took me out last year sturgeon fishing and I caught the 90 pounder I wrote about. So at 11:00 this morning I will be out there for some hopefully hot sturgeon fishing. It's a “test run” for my friend which he does often so he can put his paying clients on the fish, so it should be fun. Like I said, last year's test run yielded me a 90 pound fight of my life. Anyway Chris, I will post a report this afternoon, hopefully with pics of a few keeper sturgeon. Take care.

Dave
