Noticed that the state stocked little Lake Boren, so decided to find it for the first time. And I wanted to float the portabote for the first time this season to make sure all systems were go. Fished from noon to 2pm. Got skunked, but that's ok.
Water temp was about 45-46. No other boats out. Just a couple anglers on the dock. One guy was there the whole time I was, and reported he got none. I ran into a guy in the parking lot who said he was getting some nibbles with fire corn, and the "they're in there".
My favorite part was that it did not rain, and that I marked one piece of structure on the sonar that had what read as a large group of fish, including some really big ones. This was in about 15 feet of water, on the east edge, near an old cement landing. The rest of the lake did not show fish much at all. By the way, before I went, I saw some evidence that there is boat launch, seperate from the city park, but there really is not. It was a fair haul to get the boat from the park parking lot to the lake.
