Well, got to Lake Samish and boy was she angry!! Launched my boat..against my better judgement...and headed into the waves to look for some slack water. Didn't happen, the only slack water was in about 5' of water at the south end and that's too shallow this time of year. If I keep fishing in these conditions I'm going to have to change my name from 8theB8 to WhiteCapWillie!! I'm not kidding, I rode the waves all the way down the lake to the north end, and if I had a sail I bet you I could have hit the Lake Samish boat launch fast enough to land in the middle of I-5!!! Oh well, it was still cool to see the damage that was done during the recent floods!! Every creek that flows into this lake is now a point about 2 feet high and 20 feet longer than normal...wild! Water temps were 42-43, and the water was clear. I threw drop shots, suspending minnows, and played around with some homemade spinners. Took a few waves to the face heading back to the launch and went home to empty some aerosol cans into the atmosphere....brrr!
