I heard from a reliable source the shore fishing was slow on Rufus near the Nespelem. A few hits here and there but no fish. I guess if they would have landed those few hits it would have been a nice day catching! :)

It is slow all over on Rufus Woods. Give it some time a month or so then will pick up some as water warms. We haven't had enough real warm days before a cold spell to warm it where they like to feed.

Well I hope it comes in the next month or so because I plan to hit hard come early April. We plan to pontoon near the Nespelem as we have always done well doing that. Those who don't pontoon will be fishing around the same area out of the boat. I like to fish the south shore for big native rainbow...

I suspect that the real problem is not the cold water, but the weird flows from Grand Cooley. They have filled Roosevelt way early this year, and the normal flows are not there in RW. I hear Roosevelt is almost full, so things have got to change soon.

My wife and I trolled for almost 5 hrs. on Sat. the 7th, worked the area within 2 miles of the can line, threw everything at them but no strikes. We talked to 5 other boats, only one fish caught and those folks went all the way from the can line up to one of the pens to catch it .The only other fish we saw were taken earlier in the day by Brandt's landing, from shore on bait, mostly taken in the morn. before the water draw down that started close to noon.
