did you guys do better on Quincy or Burke? what was the average size fish?

Quincy had too much ice, but I would think it's good by now. The fish were from about 14" to 20". I'm the guy on the right in the pic and I caught the first fish, but unfortunately, the smallest, too. One of the guys landed one that when hooked started jumping WAY out of the water and really put up a struggle. Evergreen Res. is next to Burke, but it is way down still. A couple guys were coming off Stan Coffin and said the water was 44 deg. and they had NO bites. It's pretty much a Bass lake. (Catch & Release only) I'm sure as it warms in the next month things will start coming to life! Guy

Jordan. I fish Burke Lake on a regular Basis, and as the water warms the shallows up by tthe road 3 boat launch, up at the eastern end of the lake heats up. I have caught big rainbows in excess of 24" up there in the past. I usually go and pick up a tin of red worms at Royer's hardware store in Quincy. I like to use a clear, 1/4 oz casting bubble, with 2 ft of 4lb test leader with a #6 tru turn hook and a single redworm soaked with Mike's shrmp oil. Cast it as far as you can towards the other side of the shallows, and twitch it back too you. Target rising fish too...Hold on! Because I have caught and released as many as 50 nice rainbows in a morning's fishing. If you have a boat, and a fish finder, there is an awesome hole directly off of a big beaver hut about a mile up lake from the rd. 3 launch, on the north side, just off a point. MY son Jon caught 2 -24 inch plus Bow's on a 1/32 oz jighead and half a night crawler, jigging in 14 ft of water last April. Good luck... The Jigmiester
