Wow what a great lake, i got there about 0830 in the morning and had the whole lake to myself. i at first had to ride around on it for 10 min or so before i got to some serious ice fishing. I cut 4 holes in the lake and set up about 20 yards off the big rock by the boat ramp i deployed the rocky mountain Salmon slammer and it worked out well. i was fishing in about 30-35 feet of water and it seemed that all the fish were hitting right off the bottom. I limited out quickly but threw all of them back most of the fish were about 10-14 inches long not very thick but still active. i caught several rainbows and about 3 or so cutthroat i heard there are kokanee in the lake as well so i plan on going back to get some.

the lake ice was 20 inches and was very nice the weather was light wind about 15 or so and the sun was out most of the day it helps to have a ice shanty to get out of the weather. i was the only person fishing on the lake, but throughout the day there was about 100 or so snow machines. even watched a football game on the ice a group of people came down and played for about 30 min or so.

Right on, i had to travel to Manitoba to ice fish, did you use a hand or gas auger? and is the lake accessable only by snowmobile. thanks Jim

yes the lake is accessible only by snowmobile or 4 wheeler now but in the summer you can drive to it. gas auger is the only way to go and since the ice is 2 feet deep i would hate to use a power auger.

thank you for the fish id there are a lot of them in there and they seem to be all the same size about 10 - 12 inches must be last years stockers.

the bite is very light and if your not paying attention you miss it but its consistant about every 45 min or so they make there rounds.

really wish i could catch the kokenee out ther but if there only 5 inches then that means there must be some that are big but smart.
