I caught these two trout from the dock at North Cove Park using orange power bait at about 4:30 PM. There were quite a few people out today and everyone managed to catch something. I have been going out at about the same time everyday and I have managed to catch some good sized trout every time. I am using a standard hook with a split shot about 3-4 feet up. Eventually I plan to switch to a heavier egg sinker and a snap swivel but this setup seems to be working great for the time being.

Is the fishing this good from the shore all year? I know that the trout come in close during the cold weather but what happens in the spring and summer?

i myself am also a dock fisher and would say the fishing does die down a bit in the summer for trout. the bite though for perch is on fire almost every cast i caught one. when i do catch trout in the summer its with a dick night or anything that could catch their atention.
