Fished Rufus off the bank at the net pens near Nespelam on Saturday. My brother and I got there around 10 AM and stayed til 3:30 PM with only one 4lb. 12oz. rainbow to the net. Didn't see any triploids. There were about 20 people there on a COLD day, temperature in the teens, made colder by the breeze and the fact that we weren't catching fish. Only saw about a dozen 4-5 lb. fish on the bank. Most people were using nightcrawler/marshmallow off the bottom. Different colored and flavored marshmallows up and down the bank. The lake dropped about 3 inches while we were there, that may have had something to do with the slow fishing. In past trips the bite would pick up as they released water into the lake. Rufus is always an adventure, can't wait to go back.

Hello Fishin Musician
That's a nice looking trout ya got there. It was a tough day on the water that day, but you pegged a good one, and have braggin rights. Not just any hole of water will give you a chance at that size fish. Great pic and report.

Thanks Blufin Loui! No braggin rights though. A guy a couple spaces down the bank hit a 5 pounder at the same time. That's the way it seems to work there. 2-3, maybe 5 people will get bites at the same time and then nothing happens for an hour. It's worth the wait though, the next 15 lb triploid could be at the end of your line.

So true,
The fish cruise the area instead of just hanging out in a "territory", even though there are spots where the bite seems more consistent.
Hope you guys get a chance to fish it again sometime.
Good luck with your fishing adventures
