Hit the dock at Harry Todd Park with Micropterus in search of perch...or anything with fins for that matter.
I setup a jighead with a YUM Wooly Beavertail in green/chart. and pinched on a few crappie nibbles in white.
Had several bites just a couple feet from the bottom but didn't feel large and wouldn't commit. Also tried a few nightcrawlers with no luck.
Micropterus was able to get a rockbass to follow from under the dock,sorry..I can't remember what he was using
at the moment.
On the water at 11:30AM and off by 2PM, weather was overcast and cold(I don't think the outside temps
ever reached beyond the freezing/thawing point. Water was relatively calm and only saw 1 boat.
No fish today but it feels good to have the first fishing trip of 2009 tucked away.

Really enjoyed fishin' with you today Kevin. We had fun, froze a little, and could smell that the fish were there somewhere!?!? I had a Beetlespin on, tipped with worm. If it got any colder I was going to eat the worm to keep warm. Reminded me of steelheading and blackmouth fishing . . . We-haw! It's 2009 and we wet at line!.
