Well Evan and myself have been bass fishing every lake around the area from the st.Joe river ID to twin lakes WA. all summer.a total of 49 trips! Now that the the water temp is down and winter is so close its time for some trout fishing between hunting trips. We arrived at the lake about 9am to find the shore filled with about 10 anglers and 5 empty trucks with boat trailers.Water level is down about 3ft so launching the lund was fun.We tossed rainbow pattern rapalas at the rocks and in 3 casts Evan had a nice 41/2 LB brown in the boat.fishing that way stayed steady all day so while switching from the south end to the north end of the lake we trolled our rapalas behind our spinning reels about 80YDs from the boat and caught a few more, one of which was at least a 8LB rainbow that I fought for 20YDS before jumping like a Blue marlin he spit my lure out! Overall 4 or 5 fish in the 5lb range and saw a couple 7 to 8LB range bump but not take a broken-back brown trout pattern rapala close to shore. This was the first time I have ever seen Rock lake glass,no wind no clouds, nothing! So we were able to see the fish well and also the rocks! Just a heads up about a 1/4 mile from the launch on the right side there are huge rock columns all over as far out as 100YDS from shore so boat slow around that area.hope this report is helpful.
