Decided to go out on the last day of the season to help finish up a batch of fish to smoke. Last three trips I have always left with my limit. After only a hour on the lake I hooked into a 2 3/4 lb rainbow. Wow what a fight! I prefer bass fishing but this has given me a new appreciation for trout fishing. I was so excited I left right after I caught it.

In the past I had done ok with spinners and flatfish, but decided to try something different. I was trolling with a countdown rapala at about 30-40ft and still manage to get plenty of others in the boat ( before this one ) as well. I will be looking forward to coming back.

Not sure what button I hit but my previous post vanished. That's what I get for having fingers the size of Louisville Sluggers. What I meant to say was;

Williams is a beautiful lake and one of my favorites. The only thing that would make it a better lake would be the absence of fast boats. I like watching the buzzards and wild turkey in the cliffs at first light.

I agree with ya on those two points Lotech Joe. That is why I have a tendency to go mid-week less boats on the water. One of the coolest things about this lake is the birds.
