went out to beaver for a few hours today. water 68 - 72. slight wind. worked the main lake and kept hooking up with small 8 - 10" bass, all green. went up to upper lake and fish were all brown. I thought it was interesting to see the fish change with the color of the water they're in, even though both lakes are connected. My best fish came after I had just casted along side a dock, and was quickly retrieving my worm when out of nowhere this 2-3lb fish came up and struck. It made me flinch because he was about 4ft from my boat. I cast out again and watched him follow my worm until he saw me, and took off. I'll get him next time. still a fun and productive day. All C&R
tackle started with black/ blue 4" senko in main lake, and switched to green flake "roadkill" 4" in upperlake. I also had some luck with chartruese on upperlake. (real murky). 10lb test and all fish caught were in 5-15ft of water. day started overcast noon and turned to sunny when I left at 3pm.
