Well waited all year to go to Banks with my buddy and my kid. Got over there on Thursday morning and launched and got blasted by 6 foot waves all morning. The bilge pump broke and had to head in to get a new one. The next day Friday we headed back out and caught about 15 walleye and about 45 smallmouth and my son caught a monster perch. On Saturday we headed out on the lake and came around the north side of Steamboat rock and I spun my hub on my motor managed to get a couple hours of fishing in and caught about 20 more smallmouth and a walleye. It only took about an hour getting back to the boat launch at 3 miles per hour and the motor making some good noises all the way back. Good fishing bad luck and had to cut the trip short. So I think I am going to have to stick to lakes for the rest of the year where I can get away with using my trolling motor. Hope you all have better luck than me the rest of the year.

Nice! Take away the boat problems and it sounds like a great time. My brother and I fished the south end of Banks Saturday and Sunday morning. Caught walleye both days, but they were small. 1 keeper for every 10 in the boat both days. We each had one incidental smallmouth that hit our worm harness. Mine was about 5 lbs. They are fun fish. Nice weather though, Sunday the lake was smooth as glass most of the morning.

We only caught one walleye that was over 16 inches so I threw it back. I can't really figure out the perch on that lake I have seen huge ones come out of there but have never been able to locate more than a couple a trip. But I have the smallies figured out and believe it or not that was a slow trip. I never really got tired but have some nice bruises on my arm from setting the hook so much. Lemagoat American has some huge perch in it that day a couple weeks ago the kid and I were out there we caught 15 all over 13 inches.
