Went to Lake Sammamish yesterday with my dad. Started off about 6:45 trying to get some smallies. Tried dropshots, tubes, and deep diving cranks around deep docks but had no luck.
Then we decided to find some perch. I was cruising around, watching the fish finder for anything that might hold fish, and found a spot in 20ft of water where almost the whole screen showed fish. Stopped and anchored there, and threw out these 3 inch clear Yamamoto grubs. Started catching fish from the bottom to about half way down, but after a few fish, the schools came to the top of the water. I say schools cause there were several schools of fish all around the boat. Even when casting as far as i could i was catching them. I honestly think we caught over 150. Nearly everyone of them was a keeper, but we kept about 40. Didn't feel like cleaning and scaling, so we fillet them. They were big enough lol.
In the pic is all the fillets. That's a big container filled halfway to the top...
Made a video of the perch school: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXaGWrcVaM8
Only problems of the day was no bass, and lost about two packs of 20 grubs cause the perch bit the tails of.
Also saw a lot of people trolling for what i thought was cutthroats, but when i read a report today, some one said salmon??
