My son and I got on the water around 7AM. Using a roadrunner spinnerbait/jig and yellow Gulp Minnows.
The first couple hours were very slow,I was having trouble locating any fish. But we eventually found a large school of crappie with a few blue gills in the mix. These guys are hanging a little deeper than I expected,..around 15ft. But it was hot out. Air temp hit 90 degrees with no wind. Sorry,unknown water temps,my guess is at least upper 60's.
Caught several crappies with the largest around 10inches but most were around 7-8inches.
Caught a bunch a little bluegills....tiny but my boy got a kick out of them.
Used an umbrella to create some shade for my son but after awhile,it doesn't help. Just to darn hot.
Off the water by 12:30 and now at home packing for our Mayfield trip.
All fish were C&R'd
