The idea was to get up early and try the little Scriber lake/pond in Lynnwood behind Big Lot's. I knew the lake was going to get warm pretty fast as the dock faces East. Well Plan A quickly became Plan D. First I got up late and "B" took off for the lake (only 3/4 mile away) and forgot to take the worms that I bought the night before at Ed's. So I turned around and went back and got them and off for a mornings fishin.....Plan C didn't work...Had to go back and get my license....What a waste! Never in 50 years have I been checked.

Plan D...The day finally began at 7:45 and by 8:20 I had lost 2 sets of gear and two good worms gave their lives in vain. I switched to some bass plastics that stayed up more towards the top...... They worked better than the little bottom worms..In just 10 minutes I had 2 little yearling LM bass about 7-8 inches and was hoping for Mommy or Daddy bass. Nada...Zippo..No luck for about an hour of casting.

Thought I would try the worm thing again and by golly it worked...Another little bass fell to the Old Guy's Tactics....I casted way out and didn't hang up and had a few nibbles ...just enough to make me forget about the sun beating down on my bald head.......(forgot the hat in the car ). By the time I decided to leave I added a little 4in yellow perch to the pot.. and I am sure that I had a trout on for a few minutes.....make that a minute......or less...But a trout none the less.

When I left I had seen only a few Joggers and some dogs dragging people along the trail. I did see some fish stuff on the dock so I wasn't the only one fishing and catchin at this little lake. I suppose I will try it again and remember to bring my hat, license and worms. Maybe some pop also. This quiet little place is a challenge.... The water is pretty murky and I wouldn't want to use a Float tube.without full cover-up gear.... But if you have a light boat that you can carry in the 1/4 mile from the parking lot to the dock, I think you might have a nice little "secret lake" and a sore back! ............I give my morning a 2.7...Nice quite place and a few fish . Hope your morning was nice.

I wouldent eat any thing out of scriber however that lake has so much stuff in it that its a wonder that fish can even survive in it.

I just fished there a couple of weeks back using my float tube. All I caught was dinks too. But, its a nice play to try different surroundings (pads, logs, etc...)

Good little get away lake. If you see my earlier reports on this, there are quite a few species of fish. Good place to practice and try new things. great to teach kids also.
