Fished cassidy for a little bit. Tried jigs, spinnerbaits, senko's, and chatterbaits. My wife ended up catching this nice rainbow caught on a chatterbait. It was caught in the north east part of the lake near the suspended trees. Never did catch any bass any help would be appreciated.

I've never had good luck using senkos on Cassidy. That lake gets so much fishing pressure that I think most of the decent-size bass have experience w/senkos. Try a weightless 5" GY super grub. Last time I was there I had good luck using watermelon w/red& black flake -- but it was cloudy. If the sun is bright, you might do better with something more subtle like green pumpkin w/black flake or cinnamon w/black flake. Bass really dig red flake but it can be too flashy on sunny days. Small lizards also work, but I've had better luck with grubs.

Keeping it weightless is a key factor for an effective presentation to finicky bass.

Make short casts into the holes between lily pads. Braided is best in that situation. It's thin enough to work well w/light lures but cuts through soft vegetation like a hot knife through butter. Don't worry about using a leader on Cassidy. That water is so stained, the fish will not be able to see your line. On the down-side, it also means that you've got to put your lure right in their face or they won't see it at all. Don't waste time trolling around looking for that "perfect spot". Hit them all! If the bass aren't along the shoreline, don't hesitate to turn around and cast into open water. Cassidy is pretty warm these days and the bass may prefer deeper water. (15+ feet)

That is very odd to me because i have had all of my success at lake Cassidy using purple 4 " senkos rigged with a weedless hook. I have caught numerous 3-4 pounders using this set up. anyway thats just my philosophy so good luck in whatever you choose to do.
