This was my first visit to this lake since moving here back in March. Skies were clear, little breeze. water temps in the mid to upper 60's which I found a bit surprising. I was later told this lake is spring-fed which would account for the cold temps. My fish-finder was DOA so I couldn't plot the lake as I circled it. Right off the launch, I caught a couple of crappie on a green woolly-bugger using a full-sink line. That was the only action other than a few strikes directly across the lake. As I was approaching the launch, I had a grab that felt like I was snagged up until it took off. About five minutes later I lipped a largemouth that measured 18" on the apron. It grabbed my red leech pattern right off the bottom. The 'ol boy was returned to the drink to get a little older. The only pics are on my cellphone so my apologies. Will be returning soon with some new patterns to test.
