Had three generations of the family on the boat (My father, My Son and Myself) today in search of some large Lk Wash Cutts. The wind was a pain in the A$$ and made for some rough conditions and possibly contributed to some unique issues we ran into today. I normally run 6lb Flourocarbon leader to my lures and have not had any issues until today. Twice we had fish bust the leader on the initial strike, today's fish hit our offerings very hard. I guess it's time to change to 8lb or 10lb leader and/or loosen the clip tension. In all we boated 5 Cutts and 2 Jack Sockeye (Kokanee), lost one large fish due to a netting error on my part and and lost 2 others during the fight. The Cutts ranged from 14" to 19" and the Jacks were 10" and 12" each. We were fishing the North end of the Lake to avoid the Seafair Traffic and kept our offerings between 40' and 60' down. Again, all the Cutts were loaded with 1" Stickle Back and were especially feisty once hooked. Next time out we'll be focusing on catching a mess of large perch, I'm sure they have fattened up by now and are in prime condition.
