Got to Medical and set out from the parking area by the hospital on the north end of the lake at 4:30am, almost to dark to see but I have tried later in the morning after I get of work (I work at the hospital) with little success and wanted to give the early morning a try. It was partly cloudy w/ winds headed north at 0-5mph. Water was almost bathtub warm.

Kicked fin for about an hour with no luck. Lots of risers on small white bugs(I have no idea what kind of bug) and tired a dry fly for a while, got a small bass of it (about 6in), and then decided to head south of the rocks.

I caught 7 there in a matter of an hour, it was about 7am when it started. They were hitting a green weighed dragon nymph in about 30 feet of water with a fast erratic retrieve using VI full sink line as vertical as I could get with a 5mph wind and a tube. 3 were browns(17,16, and a monster 22) and 4 were rainbows(16,17,15, and a dink 11). I really regretted having to leave but I had a 9am meeting for work but a great day!

That's awesome! Wow, a 22" brownie...rainbows that big in Medical are common but browns are not. I had nearly identical results a week or so ago, using a dragon fly nymph in the same area. I it yesterday, in the late morning and very early afternoon, and got only 4 very subtle takes and one brownie. They just were not active at all. The difference, I believe, was in the hatch. Last week there were tons of adult dragon flies, may flies, and chironomids, whereas yesterday there was NOTHING! Am going back tonight to fish the last couple hours of the day...will keep y'all posted. I may also have to try one of those very early morning trips, also.

Ive seen the same type of white flies (I think) at Horseshoe, The closest I could picture would maybe be a blue dunn?
