Had a couple hours (7:30 -10) after the kids went to bed on Sunday night, so I launched my kayak on Island Lake to try for a few bass. Worked all around the northern cove and the edge of the pads with no bites on my jig, worm, cranks, or topwaters. Fished the docks and flooded bushes down the eastern shore with no luck until about 9pm, then I caught two within 10 minutes on a black Zoom trick worm. The first was a little small, but may have been a keeper. The second was a nice 2+ pounder that gave a good fight and pulled a little drag on me. Continued down the shore to the south end by the camp and started working the pads there with a black buzzbait. Got a couple of short strikes and then nailed a small guy that spit it out halfway back the boat. Worked past the camp docks and slide into the shallows on the back side of the island. Cast my buzzer past a thin group of pads and had a huge strike, so I set the hook and fought a nice 3 pounder back to the boat. Best buzzbait fish since I've been in Wa. A slow start, but not a bad night on the water.
