Bill and I took a young couple that we are friends with out fishing on Sunday morning. They had called and said they wanted to learn how to fish and would we show them how. We met up at the launch at 7:00 am and stayed out till noon when the lake started getting rough. We let them try some spincast rod and reel combos and some baitcasters too. Rachel took to both kinds real quick and especially liked Bill's pflueger baitcaster. They both threw some crankbaits and Bill even had them try a few plastics. He showed Jason how to tie knots and gave him pointers on what to use when.
Jason even caught a smallie while we were out. Before it got too wild out there we gave them a little tour of some good smallie/muskie spots on the lake so they could come out on their own. We sent them home with some rods/reels and tackle so they could figure out what they like to use before they go out and buy a bunch of stuff. All in all it was a nice day and we had a great time. My batteries died in my camera so I didn't get a digital pic of Jason's fish. Sorry.
