Took my 4 year old son and my neighbor out to Horseshoe, got there around 10 am. Couple of cars in the lot, maybe 2 other boats on the water. We were going for bass as I have caught them here before but none today. We went to the bay next to the falls and started to fish through the narrow part connecting to two lakes with no bites. Finally when we got to the point where the river flows out of the lake we caught some small bluegill. As we went along the north side of the lake the action picked up, but still just some sun fish. The high point was when I thought I had a bass on and ended up reeling in a 1.5 lb pumpkinseed. I have never seen one this big; about 8 or 9 inchers nose to tail and fat! After that, more little guys. Where are all the bass? The West Branch of the Little Spokane feeds and exits this lake, and I catch bass in it above Eloika all the time. Maybe too hot? No trout either. My son had fun reeling in a couple of bluegills, so all in all a good day.
