Took my grandfather and uncle out to Silver to try and follow up the day on the Pend Oreille. Well we didn't expect there to be as much action as the day before but we didn't expect to catch only water and weeds either. We fished my normal spots and then some other spots not producing even a follow from a muskie. I tossed Senkos on all the docks and still couldn't even pick up a bass! SO I had to change up our strategy a little bit yet again. I ended up catching 4 pretty decent bass between 1:30 and 3:00, and my grandpa got a decent bass and a little muskie. We prevented the skunk! All I can say for those who fished today and the day before that came up empty ( I talked to many) is, if you weren't fishing very tight to structure you weren't going to touch a fish. The was one log in the water that I pitched my senko at 4 times before I picked up a bass off it. They weren't going to budge unless you force fed them.
Uncle headed back for the coast and we left to get lunch. Then we hit Joe's and Sportsman's to restock some supplies. We hit the lake again at about 7:30. I thought for sure we could pick up at least a fish in the last 2 hours of light. I was wrong! nadda
This lake can be tough at times, but it can also be very good.
