Launched onto Eloika lake for the first time on Saturday evening, got to the lake late, around 8:00 pm and didn't know what section of the lake to fish, ended up starting on the SW corner near the pads and slowly worked our way to NE of the public boat launch. I worked a small plastic curly tail jib with and without a bobber, but this was my first attempt at jig fishing with a bobber so not exactly sure if location was off or presentation was off. My wife flipped crawlers with a bobber and no action at all. I managed to to hook into one small crappie north of the boat launch in about 8 feet of water. This was the first time on the lake and the second time on the boat, and I can't wait to go back! There was probably 8 or 9 other boats out on the lake, but we didn't see any in our general vicinity catching much. When we got back to the launch it was dark and there was a family with several kids and they were catching Sunfish on huge on poles with HUGE bobbers but not sure what they were using for bait.
Any types you can give me for fishing Eloika are appreciated!
