Sometimes I feel like I need to thank my lucky stars for having the opportunity to live in such a gorgeous area. Not everyone gets to drive away 15 minutes and be able to watch eagles dive and take trout right in front of them..Man, I love the NW. Great day on Margaret Sunday! Weather was comfortably warm but cloudy and overcast the whole time we were there. My friend set out for the lake arriving (and realizing we forgot the trolling motor) at around 4 or so. With our lack of motor and desire for a very relaxing day we decided to find some nice coves and still fish from the boat. If this were my friends report he would have given it a 1 or 2 because he did get skunked..but that's the great thing about days like these when you can laugh that type of thing off. Anyway though..I was nailing fish all day. I casted Rooster tails and spoons, having decent action and landing 3 or 4 fish I believe all of which I released unharmed. I suggested we switch to bait (power eggs) to try and appease my buddy's lack of success...again I nailed fish and he got skunked. I actually did hook a couple of those through the lip and was able to release them but two swallowed the bait and were immediately and humanely dispatched for the dinner table.

All of the fish were rainbows. Some of the fish were good sized 12-14 inches and were decently thick as well. A few others were smaller..9-10 inches and also skinnier. There were quite a few people on the lake with about 4 or 5 boats as well as people fishing from shore and people fishing from private docks as well..as seemingly having some success but the boaters did seem to be faring better probably at this point due simply to coverage of water. Lake felt cold..but didn't not have temp gauge. Grand day though I will be back soon and to anyone reading I would suggest a trip to Margaret if looking for relaxing and decent fish
