Had the afternoon off on Friday so packed up my gear and wife and took a drive north from Spokane to visit Coffin Lake. Had never been there, only read a couple of reports. After spending an hour trying to find exactly where the lake access was, I finally decided it was right off the main road, down a goat path you can only walk or drive a 4x4. Anyway, we set up a little camp and I fished with a bobber baited with worm and marshmallow. After an hour and a half or so with no luck I switched over to fishing off the bottom, still with the same bait and same bad luck. Finished the evening casting some spinners around that produced nothing. We did see a couple fish roll and were lucky enough to have a beaver come and play on the shore about 15 feet away from us. No luck fishing, but we were the only people on the lake and it was indeed a beautiful day.
